Toibin joins judging panel for prestigious literary prize

THE WORLDWIDE reputation of Enniscorthy author Colm Tóibín has been underlined with his selection as a member of the panel of judges for Canada's most prestigious poetry prize.

He will sit on the three strong panel of the Griffin Prize for English language poetry. The shortlist of books to be considered will be announced next April in Toronto, with the decision made public in June. The author of bestselling 'Brooklyn' is due to have a collection of short stories published by Viking Penguin next month. He and his output will be the subject of a seminar at the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy on September 26 ( not December 26, as was mistakenly reported last week).
