Tragedy averted at Wexford bridge

A man was talked down from Wexford Bridge by gardai called to investigate reports that someone was standing the railings.

Wexford gardai and the Wexford lifeboat responded to the call at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday, September 12.

Lifeboat spokesperson Lorraine Galvin said the boat was launched and was in the vicinity of the bridge when the man was persuaded to clamber back over the railings.
