Should Wexford Borough Council be spending money on on twinning visits abroad by councillors and officials?

Independent councillor, Padge Reck, who has never been on a twinning trip, thinks not.

'I don't think we can afford money for twinning at a time when old people can't get chair lifts or repairs to their houses,' he said.

'I'd prefer to see the money spent elsewhere. People are experiencing dire hardship.'

'If you go looking for a stairlift for an elderly person, you're told we don't have the money but in other areas we seem to have money for everything.'

Cllr. Reck did not attend the Lugo twinning ceremony in the Borough Council last Friday.
