Final year graduates of the BA Hons degree course in Visual Communications and Design joined with second and third years students to hold a showcase of their work at the Wexford Art and Design School of Carlow IT.

The exhibition was officially opened by Danielle Townsend, chairperson of the Education Committee of the Institute of Design of Ireland, who commended all the students on the outstanding quality of their work and wished the departing graduates success in their careers.

Predicting that the students had a bright future ahead of them, Ms Townsend remarked that due to ever-changing market and technology trends, some of the jobs they will be applying for in future years have not yet been invented.

The Visual Communications and Design students study graphic design, logo and packaging design, customer interface design, illustration, web design and corporate branding for print, computer, video and 3-D.

Course director Patrick Morgan congratulated the students on their hard work and commitment and encouraged the departing graduates to 'go forth and explore' all the opportunities open to them.
