Wallace's €1.7m revamp

WALLACE'S SuperValu Wellingtonbridge have launched their €1.7 million store revamp, demonstrating the stores long-standing commitment to the local community.
The construction project, which has been ongoing since April, helped support dozens of jobs through local contractor GJM Contracts Ltd, led by Garry Murphy and local architect Paul O'Brien Assoc.
Wallace's SuperValu, in the heart of Wellingtonbridge, currently employs 200 people from the local community. Seven new staf have been taken on as a result of the revamp and there has been an increase in store size from 9,000 sq ft to 11,000 sq ft.
The new store sees the addition of a number of exciting new areas in the store including a new scratch bakery and a health and wellness section.
The refurbishment project also includes a significant investment in new energy efficient lighting and fixtures for the store and extending free car parking.

SuperValu serves more than 2.6 million customers every week and now has 223 stores nationwide. 75 per cent of everything on SuperValu's shelves is sourced or produced in Ireland.
The Wellingtonbridge store has won numerous EIQA National Hygiene Awards in recent years and the EIQA Emerald Award and is at the heart of the community, sponsoring numerous local initiatives and people across a number of disciplines.
