FREEZING weather conditions put well known Wexford driving instructor John Bail off the road for the first time in 30 years.
'I've been giving lessions for 30 years, and this is the first time I've been put out of work because of snow. Maybe in the past I might not have been able to get out for a day, but I've never witnessed anything like this,' said the Castlebridge-based instructor last week.
The cold snap could not have their jobs, and have decided to start driving schools.' he said.
January should normally be a busy time for John as people use Christmas driving lesson vouchers, or take extra lessons to help them pass the test.
'A lot of people take lessons in January, because they resolve to pass their test in the new year. It's normally a busy time, but it's all quiet at the moment.' he said.
'We were nothing at all doing. But you couldn't go out on those roads anyway. The driving school has a responsibility to its pupils, and it was just too dangerous,' he said.
