Two students from Wexford Campus Carlow IT teamed up to help raise money for the FDYS Youth Project in New Ross.

Students Marguerite O'Connor and Kellie Quinn were asked to find a non-profit organisation in Wexford to raise money for it as part of there financial class module.

'Our teacher told us we had to find a charity around Wexford and see was there anything they wanted money for.

'We rang the FDYS Youth Project in New Ross and asked for their permission to help raise funds for them. They told us they were looking for a Playstation for their Youth Café,' said Marguerite.

Marguerite, Tagoat, and Kellie, Wexford town, raised €360 by doing a Christmas raffle hamper and a 'Split the Pot' in the college.

'It was an easy goal for us so we said we would go with that organisation,' said Marguerite.

FDYS committee member Julie Dowdall said 'the money went towards a Playstation for the kids and we are very thankful for it.'
