Wexford farmers get waste disposal date

County Wexford farmers will have an opportunity to dispose of their hazardous farm waste at a temporary bring centres in the county, one of 10 throughout the country that will operate during October and November 2015.

The Wexford bring centre will operate at the New Ross Mart and will open on Wednesday, November 25. The bring centres will be operated by a cross-government team, comprising the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Teagasc, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and local authorities in Wexford, Laois, Longford, Clare, Galway, Carlow, Kerry, Tipperary, Louth and Cork, working with recycling operators WEEE Ireland and European Recycling Platform (ERP).

The relevant government departments and agencies, the farming industry and farming organisations are currently collaborating to ensure the establishment of a long term national collection scheme for farm hazardous waste. Collection centres will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
