Wexford gardai warn 'roof top' kids and parents

GARDAI in Wexford have interviewed two young children and their parents following reports that youngsters as young as seven were running along the top of a four-storey building at a Wexford town estate.

Last week, pictures taken by a local resident of two children on the apex of the Clonard Centre building were carried by this newspaper. 'We interviewed two children, aged seven and eight, and their parents,' said Inspector Denis Whelan.

'We warned them about the dangers of running along roof tops and the dangers of similar activities.'

Inspector Whelan said the management company in charge of the building had taken concrete steps to make sure that children could no longer gain access to the roof.
