Over 60 people gathered in T Morris recently to say not one but two goodbyes to a pair of nurses from Wexford General Hospital.

Following 28 years dedicated to caring for others on St Joseph's Ward and 41 years as a nurse, Oylgate resident Anne Stamp decided to call it a day by announcing her retirement. Meanwhile Eva Rothwell from Wexford also marked an end to 15 years on the same ward after she received a job opportunity elsewhere. According to Clinical Nurse Manager at Wexford General Veronica Gallagher, everyone was sad to see them leave.

'Everyone will really miss Eva, who is going to pursue a nursing career elsewhere,' she said. 'Anne will also be truly missed. She is very fun-loving and everyone loved working with her.'

Friends, family members and colleagues gathered for the leaving party, which according to Veronica, turned out to be a fantastic

'There was finger food, speeches and a sing song at the celebrations,' she said. 'People came from all across the hospital and stayed until the early hours.'
