A TERRACED house in St Aidan's has been demolished to make way for a new entrance and exit to Pettitts supermarket.

'We're improving the entrance,' said sales and operations manager Siobhan O'Keefe.

'It's going to be easier for traffic to negotiate the car park and will improve access and make it safer for pedestrians,' said Siobhan.

She said there would also be safer access for wheelchairs and disabled people via a new path and ramps and 15 new car parking spaces would be created.

'It will improve the whole entrance and and make it much safer for customers to enter and exit the car park.'

Siobhan said she didn't know how much Pettitts had paid for the house that had been knocked down.
