Wexford housing development plans turned down

A Wexford-based developer has been refused planning permission for the continuation of a partially-completed development at Whitebrook, Pembrokestown.

Claybury Ltd., with a registered address in Nunns Lane, had applied for permission for the construction of 15 semi-detached units - 30 housing units - in three phases of 10.

The land for proposed development is owned by a company called Caluk Ltd., also with a address at Nunns Lane.

In its refusal of planning permission, the local authority said the proposed development is considered deficient in terms of the provision of adaptable housing and not in accordance with a section of the Wexford Town and Environs Plan and fails to have regard to the design manual for urban roads and srtreets where it is proposed to provide a six-metre wide road with no linkage to the estate road to the north. Therefore the proposed development would result in a substandard form of layout with inadequate linkages and would be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.
