SOME Wexford town residents have complained to the Mayor that ice cream vans should be prevented from touting for business in estates 'late' at night.
Wexford's Mayor, Cllr. George Lawlor has been asked to use his influence to curb what some term an undesirable ice cream van trade.
'Nine at night is far to late for them to be showing up,' says local resident Christine Ruttledge in a Facebook message to the Mayor. 'I know they have to try make a living but it's the parents who have to suffer.' George Lawlor responded by saying that he wasn't sure there was anything in the bylaws that dictates times, but 'a quiet word in the driver's ear should suffice'.
