WEXFORD'S newly-elected Mayor, Cllr Ger Carthy, is considering standing in the next General Election.
'I have received a of of goodwill towards me as mayor and I have to weigh up my options. I have a very good job and family life and a big constituency to look after,' Cllr Carthy told this newspaper, 'I am considering it, but I can't rule it in or out.'
'Family life is one of the most important things and I already have two boys and a third child on the way, so it would be a tall order and I'm only just after taking over as mayor,' said the Our Lady's Island-based Independent.
