Members of the Wexford branch of Down Syndrome Ireland were in good company when cycling legend Sean Kelly joined them for the launch of this year's Tour de Leinster charity cycle.

Ria Murphy, Conor Kehoe, Sean Kelly, Kay Wade, Ciara Wade, Darragh Jordan, James Murphy and Ben Murphy joined with other members, cyclists and sponsors in Tayto Park to launch the event. This is the second year of Tour de Leinster, which will see Sean Kelly join participants for the challenging 600km cycle through the 12 counties of Leinster.

The charity challenge, which will raise funds for the Leinster branches of Down Syndrome Ireland, runs from September 24 until September 27. Beginning in Dublin, participants will then travel through Wicklow and into Wexford, where they will have their first overnight stay. On day two, they will get on their bikes again, passing through Gorey, Wexford, Enniscorthy and Bunclody. The cyclists will then tackle the steep terrain of Mount Leinster, before pedalling to the remaining counties of Leinster.
