Wexford road network is falling to pieces, report

WEXFORD'S road network is falling to pieces according to a report which says 59 roads in the county are in 'severe structural distress.' Problems include on heavily-trafficked roads include extensive, large and deep potholes, disintegrating surfaces, extensive loss of pavement and cracking.
The report, by the National Oversight and Audit Commission, which monitors the performance of local authorities, says around six per cent of all regional roads suffer some form of structural distress. Of the 59 County Wexford roads highlighted in the report, 10 are regional, 15 are primary, 15 are secondary and 19 are tertiary.
