Wexford Special Olympics Club end their successful season

WEXFORD Special Olympics Club brought their successful season to a close last Saturday at the sports centre in Rosslare Strand.

The club's members, coaches and friends gathered for a day of events at the impressive facility, taking part in a wide range of sports, with athletics to the fore.

Afterwards there were some tasty refreshments for everyone, before a few of the coaches spoke to the members ahead of their summer break, with the club due to reconvene again in September.

It has been a great year for Wexford Special Olympics Club. Now in its fifth year the club continues to grow and extend its reach, competing in basketball and athletics tournaments earlier this year.

The club is also very proud that one of its members, Carole Ryan, is currently with the Irish Special Olympics team in Athens and will be competing in the gymnastics there when the World Summer Games start on Sunday.
