Wexford town pub plot sold for €100
A 19.1sq metre plot in Wexford town is being transferred to a publican for €100.
The transfer of the plot at Distillery Road was on the agenda of the meeting. The plot is being transferred to David Dempsey of the Gaelic bar on Distillery Road and Mr Dempsey is due to pay the nominal sum of €100. He is also to be liable for his own and Wexford County Council's legal costs and expenses. Director of Services for Economic Development & Planning Diarmuid Houston said the sale of the public house has been agreed. He said the council was informed that in the course of preparing contracts for sale, the vendor's solicitor discovered that a small piece of the site is registered to The Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of the Borough of Wexford. The vendors solicitor requested that the council transfer the piece of ground to the vendor to rectify the situation. As part of the pub is already constructed on the plot, the council agreed to the request under the conditions approved by Mr Dempsey. The councillors approved the transfer.
