The third annual festival is taking place from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25 and will feature a selection of walks in Bunclody, Enniscorthy and Askamore.
The events will include a walk through Enniscorthy town with a 1916 theme and rowing trips on the River Slaney. There will be walks geared for all categories of walker from trails lasting an hour and a half for the casual walker to a more challenging seven-hour walk for experienced hill walkers.
Previous festivals events have taken place in the Rosslare, Oulart, Tara Hill and Kilanerin areas with the quality and diversity of the county's walks becoming more widely appreciated and attracting more walkers every year.
The Wexford Walking Trail Festival was set up under a Leader training programme with the aim of establishing a collaborative approach to the development of walking trails throughout the county. The majority of trails are being improved and maintained on a voluntary basis for the benefit of both local enthusiastis and tourists.
