A LOCAL woman who suffered multiple fractures while she was out walking on Forth Mountain on Monday (August 24) had to be evacuated to hospital by helicopter.

Both the Rescue 117 helicopter and an HSE ambulance responded to the mid-morning emergency, however, because of the nature of the woman's injuries it was decided to fly her to Waterford Regional Hospital.

It's believed the woman was out walking with her family when she slipped.
