Wexford woman and French resident Jackie Menard Byrne said the terror attacks in Paris had broken her heart.
'I'm safe and sound, but I feel so sad, my thoughts are with the victims and their families of the attacks last night in Paris. I arrived in this beautiful country 19 years ago and I was accepted by the French people. I've made my life here, my children were born here, and growing up in this country.
'It breaks my heart to see innocent people killed, people like you and me who enjoy an evening watching a football game or a concert. The song of Michael Jackson comes to my mind "Heal the world make it better place",' said Jackie in remarks published in French on Facebook.
