Brian, a teacher at Scoil Mhuire, Coolcotts, was being treated at Waterford Regional Hospital, while Lucia was taken to St. Vincents, in Dublin.

'We have been told they will both make a full recovery,' said Shane, adding that his family had had a mass said for the Mooneys.

He said he still had no idea what had caused the crash outside Larkin's Pub at Kilmracree.

'We don't know why Kelly was heading towards Rosslare that morning,' he said.
