Wexford's Ozanam House needs your vote in video competition

THOSE behind Ozanam House are calling on the people of Wexford to get behind them and vote for the project in a new video competition which they have entered.
The competition is run by The Wheel organisation under the name 'Better Together'. The entry by Ozanam House is currently at number 15 in terms of votes, but in order to be in with a chance to win €1,000 they must be shortlisted in the top 10 on the Better Together website, bettertogether.ie.
The Ozanam House entry was the brainchild of service worker George Bridges and the new general manager John Coady. The house has provided shelter for homeless men in Wexford for a number of years now and in the video there are also testimonials from past service users Pat Carroll and Tony Allen.
The video was produced by Una O'Dowd from Pinnacle Productions, an up-and-coming company based in St Peter's Square, and local photographer John Michael Murphy also lent a hand. With the crew lacking the budget for a commercial track to accompany the video, local music maestro Michael Egan came to the rescue and wrote a specially commisioned track 'Home and Dry' for the promo in the space of just two hours.
The video itself takes an upbeat turn on the sensitive matter of homelessness and shows a day in the life of a service user, in a cosy and and heart-warming atmosphere. The video also shows off the work that workers and service users at Ozanam House have done with a polytunnel full of giant pumpkins, tomatoes and watermelons looking extremely impressive.
John Coady and all the team at Ozanam House are strongly urging the people of Wexford to support their cause by voting online for their video entry.
Not only would the money made be of huge benefit to the service, but the publicity from the video will be a great help in terms of raising awareness.
