Art competition winners will get helicopter trip

The Wexford Maritime Festival childrens art and colouring competitions are now open with entries to be handed into during the festival which takes place on Wexford Quay on June 20 and 21.

 The six winners will get a trip in the Coast Guard's Rescue 117 helicopter.

The Cow and Gate Kids Colouring Competition is for 4-6 year olds and the colouring sheet can be downloaded from www.wexfordmaritimefestival.ie or collected from the Wexford Lifeboat Shop on Saturdays 2-5pm. The Coast Guard Art Competition has three ages categorises, 6-8, 8-10 and 10-12 years with six winners getting a trip in the Rescue 117 Helicopter with a guardian! See in photo are the 2014 winners with their entries. All entries are to be handed into the Festivals Information tent before 3pm on Sunday 21st June with winners announced at 5pm.

5 GREYHOUND RACE NIGHT CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL FUNDRAISER. The annual Enniscorthy Christmas fundraising night at the dogs takes place this Thursday, September 21, at Enniscorthy Greyhound Track. Song project in Kilmuckridge 

5 LOCAL SONG PROJECT: Traditional singer Aileen Lambert will facilitate a new project focusing on exploring local songs and unaccompanied traditional singing in Kilmuckridge. Starting this Wednesday, September 13 from 7.30 p.m. in Bridie Hammel's Pub this project will take place over the course of a number of weeks. Local songs such as the Tinneaberna Fisherman will be researched and performed as part of the project and at the end a booklet will be produced along with videos featuring local songs and local singers.
