Art meets music at Johnstown

A MAN of many talents, Paul James brought pleasure to the eye and the ear last weekend with his impressive art and music show in Johnstown Castle.

The two day event, organised by Wexford Picture Framing, saw the talented fine artist, pianist and raconteur thrill audiences with some engaging installations over the weekend.

Dr Noel Culleton, head of centre, Teagasc, formally opened the exhibition and commented that Paul James is no stranger to Wexford, and is a very gifted animal and landscape artist and a creative pianist. ' We are privileged to have such an artist and accomplished musician living in Wexford County,' he said.

Paul James has been composing music since the age of 11 and his artistic talents were also recognised from a very young age. On Saturday he gave a concert which included many tracks from his album 'From Palette to Piano' which encompassed Jazz, boogie woogie and disco. Through out the concert Paul told the stories behind each piece he composed, before going into an inventive and dramatic performance.

On Sunday many locals and visitors viewed the Art on display, and enjoyed impromptu piano performance through the day.
