Canadian jazz guitarist in return visit to Wexford

Rusty McCarthy, the noted Toronto blues and jazz guitarist, will make a welcome return visit to Wexford when he performs as the Sky and the Ground in Main Street in the company of two local musicals, Kevin Lawlor and Steve Tierney on Friday, August 28.
The gig starts at 9pm and admission is free.
The Wexford gig takes place the night before the trio play the Railwaymen's Club in Fishguard as part of the Aberjazz Festival, one of three engagements Lawlor has at the Festival.
McCarthy has over a dozen CDs to his credit, and has enjoyed a fruitful with Wexford, having recorded his most recent CD Wexford Blues Sessions with Lawlor and Tierney at the County Wexford School of Music. After the gig in Wexford, McCarthy and his band will also undertake a tour which will include performances in Dublin, Cork, Waterford and at the Blackstairs Blues Fest, in Enniscorthy.
