Wexford town recently agreed to re-establish its branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann for the third time and to celebrate, members of the community are being invited to a Céilí in the Talbot Hotel.

The Wexford Comhaltas Céilí Mor on Sunday January 31 is expected to attract a huge turnout from across the county as people of all ages gather together for a few jigs and reels. Organisers are particularly appealing for young people to put their dancing shoes on and join in on the event.

Two house bands will keep the music going on the day, while a caller and a Fear an Tí will be on hand to teach the moves and ensure that 'traffic' flows smoothly.

Groups of young musicians will perform throughout the afternoon, showcasing the high level of musical talent that Wexford is known for.

With dance, music and plenty of craic guaranteed, organisers are predicting this to be a night to remember.

Members and non-members are welcome and there is no admittance charge. The dancing begins at 3 p.m. There will be a mineral bar only. More information can be obtained by emailing wexfordcce2015@yahoo.ie.
