Organisers of this year's Art in the Open festival are busy putting the finishing the touches on this year's event before it kicks off from July 24 until August 1.

This year, they have taken inspiration from the Three Sisters bid by incorporating Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny into the plein air festival.

The outdoor paint-offs will take place in six locations: Ballymore Demesne, Inistioge, Tintern Abbey, Passage East, Curracloe and Wexford Town. There will also be 18 different workshops taught by international tutors including Grahame Booth, Ned Mueller and Lena Rivo.

One of the highlights each year is the 'Charity Quick Draw', which will take place in Wexford town centre. This year's proceeds will go to Wexford Marine Watch. Last year's event raised €1,712, which organisers recently presented to The Windmill Therapeutic Centre.

Early registration for the 2016 event is recommended.
