There was a great buzz in the air as local children burst through the doors of Eleanor's Creche and got on the move for a charity fun run.

Organised in aid of children's ambulance service Bumbleance, the run saw 25 children bound through the estate with creche owner Eleanor and other members of staff. Their big efforts raised €2,000.30 for the cause.

Staff and children from Eleanor's Creche regularly take part fun runs for various charities. However, their latest one was for a cause that is particularly close to their hearts. It was organised in memory of baby Ruth Farrell from Wexford town who passed in February from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Ruth lived her final moments surrounded by loved ones in her home thanks to Bumbleance and their 'Angel Trip' service. This service takes terminally ill children home from the hospital so that they can pass away in the peace of their home.

Bumbleance are currently trying to raise money for a children's ambulance in the southeast and the funds raised by the Wexford children will go towards making this a reality.
