Ballycogley-based singer-songwriter Ian Barry, for many years a stalwart of the Wexford Song Club, is to release his second album 'The Adventures of Angel, Slash and Gunga Din'.

The official launch will take place at Bean and Berry, Wexford Town, on Thursday, June 2 at 9 p.m. as part of the venue's regular Quayside Sessions.

The album is a follow-up to Ian Barry's debut album 'Skinstown,' and comprises 10 tracks composed by Barry. It was produced by Barry in tandem with noted local guitarist and producer Michael Egan in Egan's studio in Piercestown.

The title 'The Adventures of Angel, Slash and Gunga Din' refers to Ian's wife Marion and two sons Aidan and Pierce who had front row seats while he wrote and did the preparatory recordings of the songs in the front room of their home in south Wexford.
