Luan and Clive to perform at intimate night of music

wexford Arts Centre plays host on Saturday, June 4, at 8.30 p.m. for sensational Meteor Award Winner, Wicklow-born singer songwriter Luan Parle when she is accompanied by Enniscorthy-born guitarist extraordinaire Clive Barnes for a night of great music and chemistry, combining a glossy blend of contemporary and alternative country with a sprinkling of rock and pop.

Luan Parle, who is best known for her top 10 hit single Ghost, will play an intimate acoustic set which will include songs from her catalogue as well as material from her upcoming EP release. Songs will also include her iTunes no 1 selling singles 'Day Is Done' & 'Roll The Dice'.

Between them these two musicians have worked and performed with many giants of the music world. Luan has worked with some of the world's most successful songwriters & Grammy winning producers in the UK & US including Billy Steinberg (Madonna), Chris kimsey (The Rolling Stones), Hal Lindes (Dire Straits), Stephen Ligroin (Bon Jovi), & Bill Bottrell (Michael Jackson) Clive Barnes is highly-regarded as one of the finest performers on the roots circuit. He has recorded and toured with Joe Cocker, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, he also toured with Eric Bibb as slide guitar player 2005-2006, and too many others to mention.

He will accompany Luan on stage for what promises to be a very special night of music and a rare opportunity to see both these performers together.

Song project in Kilmuckridge 

5 LOCAL SONG PROJECT: Traditional singer Aileen Lambert will facilitate a new project focusing on exploring local songs and unaccompanied traditional singing in Kilmuckridge. Starting this Wednesday, September 13 from 7.30 p.m. in Bridie Hammel's Pub this project will take place over the course of a number of weeks.
