Military show returning to Wexford Racecourse next month

Wexford Military Show 2016, a family friendly living history event depicting the people, weapons and customs of the Celts, Vikings, Normans, Romans, the heroes of 1798 and 1916, is due to take place at the racecourse on the Newtown Road on June 4 and 5.

There will also be Hungarian horseback archery and WW2 battle re-enactments, while audience participation events will include archery and bouncy castles.

This is the second year we have used Wexford Racecourse as a Venue, the previous 12 years, the show took place in Duncannon Fort.

Local business Uncle Sam's are the main sponsors of Wexford Military Show 2016 with Failte Ireland, Wexford County Council, IPB Insurance and Visit Wexford supporting the show, from which a donation will be made tO Crumlin Children's Hospital.

A night of cookery and comedy 

7 COMEDY AND COOKERY. Monaseed National School parents' association will host a fun evening of comedy and cooking in the Amber Springs Hotel on Wednesday night, February 8. On the night three local chefs, Eric Poole, Veronica Redmond and Ben Anderson, will take part in a cook off ably assisted by some local celebrities.
