Wexford Festival Opera has appointed a new marketing manager.

Tracy Ryan, a native of Kilkenny, was marketing manager with Kilkenny Arts Festival for the past three years.

She previously worked with Aer Lingus and the Conrad Hilton Group.

After receiving an honours Marketing Degree from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ms. Ryan spent two years in America, on a P.R. and marketing internship in New York and San Franscico.

Her appointment was announced by Wexford Festival Trust, which is responsible for both the Opera Festival and Wexford Opera House.

Chairman Ger Lawlor said the appointment will bring a new dynamic to the organisation.

'Tracy's previous experience in the arts and hospitality sectors makes for an excellent fit towards an enhanced promotion of Wexford as Ireland's flagship national and international cultural event,' he added.

This year's Opera Festival will run from October 22 to November 2 and bookings are being taken at the Opera House and online at www.wexfordopera.com
