Rachel ready to shine in RTE television debut

A 10-YEAR- OLD Wexford girl will appear on RTE 2 television this week in a talent competition called 'Show Off or Get Off '.

Rachel Grace is one of five County Wexford children who were selected at auditons held by RTE in Rosslare recently.

The fifth class pupil at Kennedy Park national school impressed the judges with her singing and guitar playing talent.

The auditions will be broadcast this Friday afternoon, October 19.

A public vote will decide who goes through to live shows in an X-Factor style process.

One of the five County Wexford entrants will make it through and Rachel's family and friends are hoping it will be her.

Rachel is the daughter of Vincent and Michelle Grace of 123 Corish Park and has an older brother Jamie (16).

She is a great-granddaughter of Johnny Reck, the legendary Wexford showband leader of the 1950s and 1960s.

Night at the dogs 

5 GREYHOUND RACE NIGHT CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL FUNDRAISER. The annual Enniscorthy Christmas fundraising night at the dogs takes place this Thursday, September 21, at Enniscorthy Greyhound Track. Song project in Kilmuckridge 

5 LOCAL SONG PROJECT: Traditional singer Aileen Lambert will facilitate a new project focusing on exploring local songs and unaccompanied traditional singing in Kilmuckridge. Starting this Wednesday, September 13 from 7.30 p.m. in Bridie Hammel's Pub this project will take place over the course of a number of weeks.
