Tennis marathon raises €3,000

Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club served up a successful fundraiser recently when their 24-hour marathon pulled in €3000 for Wexford Hospice Homecare.

Tennis players and sailors joined together for 24 hours on the court and the water, in addition to a vintage fashion parade. To keep them fuelled for their game, the clubhouse was transformed into a tearoom for the 24 hour period, complete with stacks of cakes made by some of the club members.

'Both events went well and members contributed of their time and some funds which made the entire 24 hours of great benefit to the Charity,' said event co-ordinator Tom Conway.
