The first round of the Credit Union School quiz took part in the Ferrycarrig Hotel last week.

This was Wexford Credit Union's heat and the two winning teams from each category now go through to the next round which is the Chapter level that should be held around the end of February, and at which Credit Union heat winners from Wexford and south Wicklow will go head-to-head in the hope of reaching the national final in April in the RDS in Dublin.

The winning teams for Wexford on the night last week, were:

In category B Barntown came first and the winning team consisted of Maurice Reynolds, James Boggan, Jack Wilde and Abban Moran. Well done to the CBS who came second in this category.

The winners in category A were CBS primary Wexford and this team consisted of Jack Gilshinan, Conal Dwyer, Neil Hession and Jack Clare. Well done to Blackwater N.S. who came second in this category.

The organisers said a big thank you to all the parents and teachers for their support with the quiz and a great night was had by all, not to mention the youngsters who proved themselves such formidable quizzers on the night - eggheads you better watch out.
