David Bowie fans will unite in the Wexford Arts Centre this Saturday January 23 to celebrate the life and music of the legendary David Bowie following his sudden death.
'The Stars look very different... Bowie Night' will see a host of Wexford musicians come together to pay a tribute to the star. The Gentleman Callers, Ian 'Mocha' Moloney, Soul Trek and the Funk Generation, Secret Life, members of Cornerboy and Ripcord_64 are just some of the acts expected to hit the stage on the night to play a selection of Bowie's greatest songs.
In a statement about the event, a spokesperson for Wexford Arts Centre said: 'We were taken aback by the level of feeling and felt we could help by giving everyone a place to gather together and enjoy the music. There was also a lot of Bowie fans who themselves are musicians who wanted to gather together for the same reason.'
Fans can unleash their inner Ziggy Stardust on the night as dressing up is greatly encouraged. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
Tickets cost €5 and can be bought from Wexford Arts Centre. This will be a stand up event.
