Staff from Clayton Whites joined with some energetic locals and hopped on their bikes for a Spin-a-thon in aid of Crumlin's Children's Hospital.

The generous group got the wheels in motion last week outside La Speranza and in the Clayton Whites Hotel Lobby, with each taking to the saddle for an hour at a time. So far, they have raised €2500 for the charity but with funds still rolling in, the final sum is expected to top that.

The event attracted much attention from passers by who were more than willing to donate a few euro to the cause.

'We were delighted with how much everyone supported it. We are thrilled with the amount that we raised,' said Heather Thompson, Sales and Marketing Executive with Clayton Whites Hotel. 'The day was quite a chilly one but everyone showed up who said they would.'

The event is the first of four major fundraisers that will be organised by Clayton Whites as CMRF Crumlin is the Primary Charity Partner for the Dalata Hotel Group in 2016. Together with the other hotels in the group, staff in Clayton Whites hope to raise €150,000 to fund a new outpatient unit in Crumlin. They already have their sights set on July, when they will hold their family fun day fundraiser in their courtyard.
