The A.G.M. of the Coiste na nOg section of the club will take place in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 17, and all are welcome. We would especially like to see as many parents as possible of our under-age players. Nominations for team management positions and officer positions will be accepted until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15.

In other news, it seems love was really in the air at Christmas, as news came through of player after player popping the big question to their loved ones - and getting the answer they wanted to hear!
So, hearty congratulations on their engagements to Tommy Dwyer and Mary O'Neill; Derek Thorpe and Georgina Moore; Liam Murphy and Lisa Harte; Thomas Dwyer and Elaine Binnions; Pat Nolan and Laura Earle; and Jerry Davitt and Therese Kennedy.
Congratulations also to Conor Swaine and Paula Quinn, who were married on December 30, and all the best from all in the club for many happy years together.
'Strictly Come Dancing' events are continuing, and on Saturday night (January 11), there's some great craic in store in The Thatch as a chest waxing/headshave night takes place. It is hosted by dancing couples John Tonks and Sarah Redmond, and James Tonks and Danielle Earle, and all support will be much appreciated.
Finally, this week's lotto jackpot is €8,400 and the draw will take place in Doyle's tonight (Tuesday).

Details regarding ticket sales will be announced shortly. It will be important to reserve your ticket early as demand might exceed availability of seats.
On Thursday, January 23, Buffers Alley will host a monster G.A.A. quiz in the clubhouse commencing at 8 p.m. The quiz master will be Tony Doran Snr. who will test all those present on their G.A.A. knowledge, and he is expected to throw in a few brain-teasers along the way. Tables of four will cost €40.
It is hoped to see many well-known G.A.A. personalities from across the county converge on Buffers Alley to support this quiz, with all profits raised going towards the fundraising efforts of Strictly Club dancers Tony Doran Jnr. and Michelle Morris.
A fashion and beauty evening will take place in the Buffers Alley clubhouse on Friday next, January 10, commencing at 8 p.m. This promises to be a great social evening for ladies with a number of models wearing the latest attire from local fashion houses - Vintage Bell (Kilmuckridge and Wexford), Alice J. Kelly Millinery (Blackwater), Helen's Home Shop (Enniscorthy), Chemical Afflictions (Kilmuckridge) and Calla Beauty & Wellness (Ballyrea).
Tickets are available from Cate Donohoe, Jacinta Kenny, Brídín Roche, Ceire Prendergast, Ellie Dempsey and Mary Foley. There will be a prosecco reception, finger food and attractive door and raffle prizes. This is a fundraiser for dancers Cate Donohoe and Matty Foley.
There will be a clothing re-cycling drive in Buffers Alley on Saturday, January 11, at 12 noon. All items are to be dropped off in the Alley between 9 a.m. and mid-day. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, also bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys.
Laptops are allowed but must be intact with a lead. Also, mobile phones are accepted but must be packaged separately. Books are good too but no school books, magazines or diaries. If you cannot make it to the clubhouse on Saturday morning, please contact Michelle Morris (086-1546736) or 'Turbo' Doran (086-8652855) before Friday, January 10, to make arrangements. This is a fundraiser for Strictly Club Dancers Michelle and Tony.
A very good, entertaining night was had by all at the fun G.A.A. quiz held in Buffers Alley for Strictly Club Dancers Andrew Kenny and Louise Hammel.
Over 16 tables of four participated in the quiz. Micheál Kelly was question master with Andrew Kenny and Seán Óg Whelan correcting and updating the leader board. A number of other people, while not taking part in the quiz, attended to lend their support too.
A big thank you to everyone who attended, donated raffle prizes or helped in any way to make the occasion such a success. The first placed winners (who kindly donated their winnings to the fundraiser) were Jack Murphy, Theo Butler, Thomas O'Leary and Cormac Foley with a score of 78 from a possible 80. In second place were Pat Doran, Michelle Morris, Therese Doran and Marie Doran. In third place were James Foley, Pat Kenny, Bobby Kenny and Joe Lee.

Happy new year to all of our members. The cream of our adult talent opened 2014 on a high as they all performed well in a county Under-21 hurling challenge game against Antrim in Dublin on Saturday last.

There was no winner of last week's lotto. The jackpot now is €11,600, the highest it has been for some time. The lucky dip winners of €30 were Paddy Murphy (Ballyconnigar), Senan Lillis, Anthony Roche and Eoin Byrne (Inch and Australia - not sure if that will be split 50/50), Mary Donoghue Jnr. (Inch), G. O'Neill (Adamstown) and the seller's prize went to J. Whelan. The next draw will be on January 14 in Blackwater G.A.A. Complex.
The boxers have stepped up their training with some sparring against the Shelmaliers this week. Don't forget to book the time in your diary, it's on February 21 in Whites Hotel, and tickets can also be purchased from committee members or by contacting Declan (087-2074594).
Our first committee meeting for 2014 will be held in the Shamrock room in Clonard Community Centre tonight (January 7) at 8 p.m.

The ladies had their football medal presentation on Friday last.
Stevie Power was the M.C. for the event while Tracy Sinnott and Sinéad O'Connor, last year's captain and vice-captain, presented the medals to each player. Well done to Valerie Redmond on receiving the player of the year award.
Membership is as follows: family and player €90; student €60; non-player €40; Under-16 to Under-18 €30, and Under-6 to Under-14 €20. Additional children will be €15 for each.

The fitness competition we are entering into is Operation Transformation and not the Beer Belly Challenge. These are of course two completely different competitions.

Intermediate and Junior 'B' training will go ahead at Mick Kelly's gym in Westpoint every Monday and Thursday at 8 p.m. for an hour. If you would like to take yourself and your football seriously this year, it would be more than advisable to get to it.
