Berrys claim big handball scalp
A huge crowd packed into St. Mary's handball court in Emmet Place Wexford on Saturday afternoon as five-time world champion Paul Brady was in town for the semi-final of the Intermediate doubles in the big court.
Though more known for his superiority in the small court, Brady joined forces with James Brady in a quest for 60 x 30 glory, however the huge crowd were partisan and were firmly in the corner of Mikey and Jim Berry on this occasion.
With the Wexford pair more experienced in the big court, they delivered when the pressure was cranked up a few gears to the delight of their supporters.
The Model county men triumphed on a 21-15, 21-18 scoreline which sees them into an All-Ireland final against Oliver Conway and Martin Mulkerrins from Galway.
That also promises to be a fantastic game of handball, with the fixture details to be announced.
