Bradley's second-half brace vital as Adamstown pips Sars
Shane Bradley pounced for two vital second-half goals as Adamstown completed a notable double over Sarsfields in Taghmon on Saturday.
Adamstown 2-10 Sarsfields 3-6
The same venue had hosted the Senior meeting between the clubs which the black and ambers won by two points, and this time around they had one less score to spare as they advanced to the Enniscorthy Farm Systems Junior 'A' football championship semi-final.
They led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break but suffered a setback in the 33rd minute when Sars targetman Ciarán Byrne rattled the net.
However, the response was impressive as Shane Bradley sidefooted the ball to the net at the other end just over two minutes later after John French's initial shot was saved.
A second Bradley goal pushed Adamstown into a double scores lead by the end of the third quarter (2-8 to 1-4), but they had a nervy finish after Byrne forced the ball home again for the town team.
The number 14 earned an injury time penalty which Lee Smith converted, but the latter's late pointed free left them one short.
