Well done to the Castlebridge-Crossabeg Community Games camogie team which defeated Bagenalstown from Carlow in the first round of the Leinster championship recently on a scoreline of 6-2 to 2-6.

There were some super catches, hooks, blocking and saves from goalie Loren Doyle against a very strong Carlow side, while the goalscoring prowess of Andrea Fielding also proved vital.

The Castlebridge-Crossabeg squad featured Loren Doyle, Amy O'Connor, Hannah Mernagh, Nicole Harding-Kenny, Ciara Banville (capt.), Hannah Hearne (1-0), Leah Scallan, Kelly-Ann Dempsey, Caoimhe Parker, Orla Redmond, Andrea Fielding (4-2, 1-1 frees), Ríoghna Hourihane (1-0) and substitutes Sinéad Banville for O'Connor, inj., and Mai Ling Tynan for Dempsey, inj.

A big thank you to all the team-mates, Aoibhe, Aoife, Eva, Ellen and Amy who travelled with the team and helped out with water bottles etc., and to Bagenalstown for their friendliness and for the hospitality afforded to the Wexford girls afterwards.
