Cúl card duplication not fair on children

WE REPORTED favourably on the new Cúl Heroes G.A.A. cards elsewhere on these pages some weeks ago.

However, we now must re-visit the topic with a word of criticism for the Offaly-based promoters.

Numerous readers have mentioned their displeasure to us when they purchased a packet of six cards for a child, only to discover that two of them were duplicated.

Accumulating swaps is part and parcel of collecting; but two of the exact same card in the one packet isn't playing ball.

In many cases we are talking about seven- and eight-year-olds forking out €1.50 in pocket money for a packet of six. The least they deserve is to have no duplicates therein. It's simply bad form.
