The Wexford Under-13 ladies' football development squad played Louth recently in St. Patrick's Park, Enniscorthy.
The girls produced a skilful game of football with Emma Tompkins putting Wexford on the scoreboard with the first point. This was followed two minutes later with another point from Orla Kehoe before Sinéad Kirwan scored a goal, followed six minutes later with another two goals from Orla Kehoe and Sinéad.
This was followed by a point from Emma Tompkins and two quick goals from Orla Kehoe. Louth never gave up and Lynn Victory scored a great point to put them on the scoreboard.
Aoife Waters scored a point, blocked the kick-out and put the ball into the back of the net.
Wexford worked the ball up the field into Emma Tompkins who put it over the bar, and this was followed by another point by Aoife Codd.
Louth's forward, Sarah Gilmore, scored another point before the last kick of the half saw Sinéad Kirwan score another goal.
Wexford started off the second-half with their substitutes all on the field, and Aoife Codd scored a goal in the first minute. This new bunch of girls also gave a great display of football.
Louth's young players never gave up and they were unlucky not to get onto the scoreboard. Sadhbh Neville and Maeve Buckley both scored points.
The Wexford girls played well as a team, and a good passing move ended with Mia Kelly scoring a goal before Tara Murphy and Aoife Codd added points.
