Champions Oulart-The Ballagh survived a scare in their second outing in the Pettitt's Senior Hurling Championship in Wexford Park on Saturday afternoon.

Cloughbawn nabbed an early Alan Carton goal as they burst into the lead. The Castleboro boys led 1-4 to 0-1 at the end of the opening quarter but Oulart responded with a classy Martin Og Storey major.

Trailing 1-12 to 1-7 at the break, Oulart, on the back of a close-range Nicky Kirwan goal, levelled by the 41st minute. Cloughbawn battled away but the Leinster champs just edged it 2-16 to 1-18.

Before hand, Rapparees claimed a dramatic win over Glynn-Barntown. The Enniscorthy club led 1-10 to 1-6 at the break, courtesy of a Tomás Mahon goal.

They continued to lead into injury time but were hit with a sucker punch goal when Mark Fanning's free came down off the upright and Craig Doyle pulled to the net.

Yet seconds later the Bellefield boys burst up the field and wrapped up victory when Darragh Pepper stroked low to the net to give his side a 2-17 to 2-15 win.
