New London manager Ciaran Deely's return to his native Wexford started on a very bright note, but it ended in a heavy defeat as the home side coasted to a runaway 4-20 to 1-6 victory in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League in Innovate Wexford Park on Sunday.

Wexford 4-20 London 1-6

Wexford were stung after just 25 seconds when corner-forward Seán Hickey scored a goal for the exiles, but they responded with a power-packed display which saw them surge clear by 1-10 to 1-1 at the interval.

Substitute Tiarnan Rossiter scored the goal in the 27th minute after a brilliant lay-off by the outstanding Donal Shanley who finished as top scorer with eight points to his credit.
Paul Curtis added the second goal midway through the third quarter, and Wexford embellished their scoring difference even more near the end when John Tubritt and Daithí Waters crashed shots to the net.

The win will leave David Power and his charges in upbeat mood for the trip to Fraher Field in Dungarvan on Saturday, March 5, to face Waterford at 7 p.m.
