Well done to the successful squads who received their medals before a packed attendance in the clubhouse on Monday evening.
The Under-12s were winners of the Martin Bergin Shield, while the Under-11s won the County Shield and were runners-up in the Top Part Cup.
A big well done to the players and their dedicated coaches: Nicky Doyle, Stephen Kinsella, Micheál Doyle and James Whelan.
Best wishes to the Under-21s whose next game in the District championship is against Kilmore in Tagoat on Saturday at 2.30 p.m.
Best wishes also to Billy Walsh on his new venture in America. We are proud to have Billy as a club member, and he can hold his head up high as always after enduring a very tough eight months.
The club lotto jackpot wasn't won last week. The six match three winners were: Jackie Curran, Dungeer; Mary Doyle, Ballyhennigan; Bartie Walsh, Coolseskin; Bridget Casey, Barrystown; Thomas Kavanagh, c/o Dan; Terry Cullen, Davitt Road.
The next draw will be on November 3 in the Centre and the jackpot will be €9,800.
The provisional date for the county Junior hurling final is Saturday, November 7, so get your yellow and blue flags and banners up around the parish to support the team.
The A.G.M. of Rapparees camogie club will take place on Sunday, November 22, at 5 p.m. sharp in Bellefield G.A.A. complex, Enniscorthy. All are welcome.
This year has been a hugely successful one for Davidstown-Courtnacuddy camogie and ladies' football club.
We are delighted to have grown our club to a stage where we have teams in Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Junior 'C' in camogie, and Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Junior 'B' in ladies' football. Through the hard work and dedication of our players, mentors, committee members and parents, we have achieved wonderful success this year.
Our Under-8s and Under-10s were busy playing matches and blitzes. The Under-10s came out on top in their county final against St. Anne's in Wexford Park and were delighted to be presented with their medals at the Lá na gClub in Davidstown G.A.A. grounds.
Under-8s and Under-10s coach Paul Doyle and fellow mentors Tommy Ryan, James Kehoe, Eddie Mulligan and Taragh Nolan are very proud of how they have improved their camogie skills this year.
Our Under-12 players were dual winners! They won the Division 4 football championship final in Wexford Park in a very exciting game and they were also victors in the Division 4 camogie final against Kilrush in Oylegate. What a team!
Our Under-14 team came home with the cup for ladies' football Division 4 when they overcame St. Fintan's in a thrilling replay in St. Patrick's Park. What a brilliant achievement for these players and their coaches and mentors: Denis Delaney, Joe Murphy, Mark Moitie, Mary Jevens and Anne Egan.
The Under-16 team had a hard-fought victory over Kilanerin in the Division 4 football championship final in Gorey on a scoreline of 5-9 to 5-0. Coach Tommy Kelly and mentor Brigid Power have done a wonderful job in training the girls and great celebrations were witnessed after the game. The Under-16 team reached the camogie shield semi-final too and just lost out to St. Anne's.
Our ladies team reached the semi-final of the Junior 'B' football championship, losing out to Bannow-Ballymitty. They also played a league quarter-final, losing out to Glynn-Barntown, and the Junior 'C' camogie quarter-final where Horeswood came out on top.
It is a fantastic achievement for the ladies and their coach, Tommy Kelly, to reach these crucial stages in the competition, especially since this is only their second year to compete.
Overall we have had an outstanding year. Having a number of players on both camogie and football Wexford development squads is testament to the talent and dedication we have in our club. We will have a medal presentation ceremony and celebration for everyone involved in the coming weeks.
The Chairman of the club, Tommy Kelly, is extremely proud of all of our players. New members are always welcome, and please contact Tommy on 087-2418471.
The committee would like to thank all players, parents, coaches and mentors for all of the time and effort that has gone into such a winning year. Onwards and upwards for our club!
