SARSFIELDS The first All-County League games of the year for our two adult teams are just around the corner.

The Seniors will be away to Glynn-Barntown on Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in Division 1A which also featured Starlights, Shelmaliers, Castletown and St. Martin’s.

The Juniors are away to Volunteers in Division 5A on Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m., and they will also be playing Crossabeg-Ballymurn, Clonard, Kilmore and St. Fintan’s.
Well done to Cathal Kirwan who came on for the Wexford Minor footballers who played a 1-11 each draw with Kildare in their Leinster League opener in Hawkfield on Saturday. They will play Dublin in the Ferns Centre of Excellence next Saturday at 2.30 p.m.
The sympathy of all club members is extended to the Whelan and Murphy families on their recent bereavements.
There was no lotto jackpot winner on February 15 when the numbers drawn were 2, 5, 6 and 13. Next week’s jackpot is €9,800.

Congratulations to Rory Gilbert on winning the Leinster Schools handball championship, beating representatives of Kildare, Dublin, Kilkenny and Laois.
The All-Ireland championship is next which will be played in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, on February 20. Commiserations to Conor who was defeated at the penultimate round of the county championship. Well done boys.
More congratulations for the handballers, as Daniel Byrne-Kavanagh had the honour of meeting President Michael D. Higgins at Arás an Uachtaráin.

The Junior footballers are training on Fridays from 8 p.m. in St. Peter’s, with hurling training on Thursday from 8 to 9 p.m. Contact Seán Gregg (087-9122603).
The under-age coaching continues for boys and girls in St. Peter’s for Under-6s and Under-8s from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Under-10s and Under-12s from 7 to 8 p.m. All are welcome to come along and join in.

The club would like to send a vote of sympathy to Brendan Benson and the Kavanagh family on the death of his niece, Dolores Kavanagh, Mulgannon, Wexford, recently. May she rest in peace.

A fantastic night was had at our club dinner dance in the Arklow Bay Hotel on Friday. It was fantastic to see all sections of the club enjoying a great night out.

Owing to Offaly's Kilcormac-Killoughey withdrawing from the Leinster Under-16 club football league, we received a walkover on Saturday. The next game is next Saturday versus Wicklow's Avondale at 2.30 p.m. in Avondale.
Under-8, -10 and -12 ladies’ football training is starting back Saturday, February 20, from 5-6 p.m. in the indoor arena in Castletown, so grab your friends and come and enjoy a fun-filled hour of ladies football. New members are always welcome. Under-16 training is on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m.
A bag pack has been organised in Dunnes Stores Gorey for Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27. All team mentors will be in contact over the next few days looking for your help, so if you have an hour or two to spare please let us know.
The annual indoor hurling tournament for Under-10s, Under-12s and Under-14s commenced last weekend. The competition will run over the next five weekends, with over 20 clubs participating. Best of luck to all the boys and especially our home teams!
Castletown-Liam Mellows are proud to announce that our club has been successful in our application to participate in the G.A.A's Healthy Club's project. Over 100 clubs around the country applied for this second phase of the project, and just 30 were selected.
This project aims to highlight and improve the health and well-being of our club members and the wider community. Watch this space for more information very soon!
Castletown family indoor market and craft fair starts back Easter Sunday, March 27, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
If you wish to book a space for €10 please call or text Sandra on 086-3664145. All you need is your table (maximum eight ft.) or rail and your stock! Sell your stuff and make some money! Tea/coffee and refreshments will be available, and there is free entry. 
We are extremely fortunate to be able to include our indoor arena as one of our facilities. Our astro-turf pitch is one of the largest indoor facilities of its type in the country. It is 200 ft. long x 120 ft. wide, and the pitch extends to the full size of the building.
The roof, at 30 ft. high, has extra height to allow for hurling. The arena is available for external bookings: Beat the rain and play in our indoor arena.

In order to keep the club notes e-mail service up and active, coaches/mentors must send in match fixtures and results to by 3 p.m. every Sunday This will be shared with the website, social media and also sent to local papers.

Hard luck to our Under-21 footballers who were beaten by Ballyhogue in the 2015 county final over the weekend by 1-14 to 0-7. It brings an end to the 2015 season at last.
Training is now in full swing for football and hurling on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7.30 p.m.
Our Intermediate team is playing St. James’ next Saturday in the Tommy Murphy Cup football tournament in Mersheen at 3 p.m.
To all players and members, 2016 membership fees are now due. Please pay any member of the committee: players €65, family €80, non-player €50, student €30, and walk/jogging track member €20.
The lotto jackpot wasn’t won last week. The numbers were 10, 11, 12 and 30, and the three match three winners were: Helen Doyle, Trinity, Molly Redican, Dungeer, and Deirdre and Nicky O’Hanlon, c/o Deirdre O’Hanlon. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,300.
Last week’s lotto numbers were 6, 13, 14 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners: Liz Foley and Joe Murphy. This week’s jackpot is €8,800.
Our Minor footballers will play Ballyhogue away in the first round of the championship on Sunday, February 28, at 11 a.m.
In the first round of the league our Intermediate footballers will play Geraldine O’Hanrahans at home on Saturday, March 5, at 4 p.m., while the Junior ‘B’ footballers will play Kilmore at home on Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m.
The under-age section of the club will hold registration nights this weekend, on Saturday in Ballymurn Hall at 8.30 p.m. and on Sunday in The Forge, Crossabeg, at 7 p.m. Adult memberships are also now due.

A disco for first years and up will be held on Friday, February 19, in the clubhouse from 8.30 to 11 p.m. Admission is by ticket only. Tickets at €5 each are on sale . Text after 7.30 p.m. to 087-7858641.
Hard luck to Emma Walsh and Carlow I.T. who were defeated at the weekend by Maynooth in the Purcell Cup semi-final.

Our Under-10s were in action again on Sunday in Bannow-Ballymitty's indoor hurling tournament, playing Clongeen and hosts Bannow-Ballymitty.
Hard luck to our Minor footballers who were edged out of the O'Loughlin Cup by a mere point by St. John's Volunteers at the quarter-final stage on Sunday.
Winning club lotto numbers on Wednesday, February 10, were 12, 18, 24 and 28. There was no jackpot winner and four match threes: Martina Hynes, Tom Fitzharris, Adrian Codd and Robin Walker.
The jackpot remains at €10,000, with a reserve jackpot of €6,200. The next draw is in Mary Jo's, Barntown, on Wednesday, February 24.
Tickets are available for the Glynn-Barntown G.A.A., camogie and ladies’ football clubs’ reunion on Friday, March 4, in the Riverbank House Hotel at 8 p.m. Admission is by ticket only. Tickets cost €25 each.
Please come along and celebrate the wins of 2015 - Intermediate football championship, Junior league hurling and Senior ‘B’ camogie championship. Whatever your involvement in the club, it is guaranteed to be an evening full of fun and parish spirit.

Hard luck to Eoin Conroy who was part of the Ger Cushe-selected Wexford Senior hurling squad which lost to Limerick in the opening round of the Allianz National League on Saturday. 
Hurling training has resumed for Under-12s and Under-14s. The -14s train from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. while the -12s play between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Bring runners as training will take place indoors.
