Glynn-Barntown 1-15 St. Martin's 1-12
The Piercestown side looked to be pulling away in the second half as they opened up a six-point lead but a rousing effort over the final 20 minutes ensured Barntown would be victors.
In a considerably quieter first half, sides exchanged points at a relatively low tempo. Alan Kehoe, Barry O'Connor, Edward O'Byrne and Mikey Cairney scoring the Martins' first half haul while Glynn kept in touch through Aaron Kehoe, Matt Doyle and Nigel Usher. Meanwhile, Cathal Lacey did well to keep the ball out of Glynn's goal, saving twice from Kehoe.
After the interval, Alan Kehoe did finally make the Barntown net bulge.
With the first play of the half, the forward burst through the defensive line before rounding the keeper and finishing into an empty net.
Further scores from Richard Devereux, Conor Coleman and Kehoe pushed the Martins on into a six point lead before Glynn's revival gained power. Back to back Doyle frees narrowed the gap before Ben O'Shea finished cleverly from a narrow angle to score Barntown's only goal of the meeting.
Conor Coleman and O'Byrne answered back for the maroon and whites but could do little to prevent a dominant Barntown finish.
Frankie Hynes and Usher minors were added to by an O'Shea double to put Glynn-Barntown in the driving seat for the first time in the match.
Another Hynes point, from wide left, and a contribution from midfielder James Stafford extended Glynn's lead in the dying moments.
