St. James' G.A.A. club in Ramsgrange, who were crowned Senior football champions on the pitch in 2015, turned the sod on their new dressing-room development on Saturday morning as Minister Paul Kehoe performed the official sod turning.

The Fine Gael TD helped out the club with advice on securing grant funding in 2014, and the money awarded will go towards the new development, with many people in the club helping out to get this project to building phase.

The building work began on Monday, with Gavin Shannon being the main contractor on the job. His company hope to have the new development, which includes two new dressing-rooms, a new meeting room, store and shop, finished by the start of June.

The club is also excited to announce that it will, for the first time in its history, host a G.A.A. Cúl Camp this summer.

A busy seven days also saw the club launch its new website which is now live at www.stjamesgaa.com The features include fixtures, club news, sponsorship and everything that is going on, both on and off the pitch, in St. James'.
